Bistrot Chez France
9 Rue Amelie, 75007 Paris, France
For our last meal in Paris, K and I booked ahead for Bistrot Chez France, a lovely little restaurant serving traditional French dishes by candlelight. The owner, France, was an absolutely fantastic host, who made great food and wine suggestions and did her best to ensure we had the perfect last dinner.
This was, without a doubt, one of the best duck dishes I’ve ever had. Tender, perfectly pink duck, smooth, buttery mash and a rich, not-too-sweet orange sauce. My favourite dish of the night.
Who doesn’t love a good crème brûlée? This one had the perfect crack and a silky smooth custard underneath.
There’s nothing more decadent than warm, sticky caramel sauce and cold, sweet ice cream – a match made in food heaven.
For only €30 each, K and I left Bistrot Chez France very happy. It was certainly a delicious meal of classic French dishes devoid of any pretentiousness – comfort food at its best. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant if you’re looking to have a nice meal out in Paris without the hefty price tag – and I can’t wait to return!
