Workshop Brothers Specialty Coffee
1146 Glen Huntly Rd Glen Huntly, VIC 3163
Another weekend, another new café for brunch. This time, K and I caught up with a high school friend at Workshop Brothers Specialty Coffee in Glen Huntly. Walking in, I instantly fell in love with their coffee counter, which displayed an eclectic range of specialty brewing equipment and really added a lot of character to the space. The waiters were absolutely lovely and made the time to explain the different types of coffee blends that they had on offer.
I was definitely a little jealous of K’s dish when it was brought out – the brisket looked delicious and the whole thing was just smothered in hollandaise. Even though I didn’t have a taste of this one, it definitely looked like a winner.
Such a pretty dish, and tasted good too, with all the flavours of a lamington. I loved the freeze-dried raspberries as well as the labna, which added freshness to the ensemble. The French toast itself was too dry for me and I wasn’t able to eat the entire thing as it was so rich and eggy, but K certainly enjoyed finishing it off for me!
I would definitely return to Workshop to try their coffee – their house blends sound amazing and would make a great addition to my mornings. The food was good, but not mind-blowingly so, and given the fairly basic menu, I don’t think there are any other dishes I was keen to try for now – perhaps in a few months when a new menu launches?
