107 Grey Street St Kilda, VIC 3182
I don’t often head St Kilda way, so on a rare day off, K and I made the trip to enjoy a lovely lunch at Dr Jekyll. Brightly lit and spacious, the venue is a hybrid of café and restaurant, with a full dinner menu on offer as well as the classic breakfast options.
Our waitress was lovely and introduced us to the Golden Latte, an interesting and new (at least to us!) drink made with a blend of turmeric and other spices. It’s purported to have pro-immunity, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative qualities.
While I’m not sure about the health benefits, it definitely tasted good with a little addition of coconut syrup – basically a chai latte with a different spice profile.
Buttery brioche with a lovely toasted crust and a big piece of tender fried chicken. The addition of hot sauce definitely appealed to my palate – if only there were fries on the side!
A beautiful dish, K’s pan-fried flat head was perfectly cooked and paired with some simple yet delicious flavours that complemented it very well.
We left very impressed with the food at Dr Jekyll and will definitely be returning to test out their dinner menu very soon!
