Spare Me Kitchen
Level 1, 393 Brunswick St Fitzroy, VIC 3065
K and I were recently invited to the launch of Spare Me Kitchen, a recently opened restaurant by the team behind Glamorama nightclub in Fitzroy. It boasts a modern Australian menu that takes inspiration from international flavours whilst using local produce. Having undergone a complete refurbishment and with David Stewart from Ascot Food Store at the helm of the kitchen, its refinement and quality food is the perfect complement to Glamorama downstairs.
Crunchy, full of flavour and deliciously moreish.
The parfait has a very distinct liver flavour which I really enjoyed, especially paired with the salty jamon.
Perfectly cooked to medium rare with a nice char on the onions and a lovely vinaigrette.
Flaky, tender fish and a simple but rich white wine sauce.
Definitely the highlight of the meal for me. The lemon curd was not too sweet and worked very well with the creamy cheesecake and crunch of the crumb.
Spare Me Kitchen undoubtedly served some very delicious food throughout the night, all of which I enjoyed thoroughly. My only criticism is that given the size and relative simplicity of the dishes, the price is a bit steep, but there’s certainly no faulting the quality of the food.
